SSV Bozen Dominates Serie A Badminton Championship, Leading South Tyrolean Team

SSV Bozen Badminton is still the best South Tyrolean team and leads the rankings at the end of the 2nd weekend of the Serie A team championship.

This weekend all 10 teams from the top league of the Italian championship met in Chiari (BS).
The SSV BOZEN team met the Sicilian team “ASD CITTA’ DI PALERMO”, which is currently at the bottom of the overall standings. The Bolzano team won against the team from Palermo with 5/0.

In the second game, which was played on Saturday evening, there was a direct duel for the top of the table against the “MODENA BADMINTON” team. The team from Emilia-Romagna, newly promoted to Serie A, which was in first place in the rankings after the first weekend of games thanks to the numerous commitments of international athletes, immediately showed its ambition to make it to the “Final Four”.

In the end, Bolzano prevailed against Modena with 4/1.

Katharina Fink and Camilla Martens (of Danish origin) opened the encounter with a two-set win over Adele Bobbio and Ailen Romina Oliva (21:4, 21:13). In the men’s doubles, David Salutt and the young Charles Joseph Fouyn (of Belgian origin) won in two sets against Felix Jacob Burestedt and Moh Imam Nurfasyah with 21:18, 21:15.

Camilla Martens, wearing the SSV Bozen jersey, defeated Adele Bobbio 21:10, 21:14. In the men’s race, the Belgian Charles Joseph Fouyn, who represented SSV Bozen, won over the Swede Felix Jacob Burestedt (top 50 athlete in the world rankings) with 21:19, 21:11: 19, 21:11. Finally, the people of Bolzano also defeated their opponents from Modena (Alien Romina Oliva and Moh Imam Nurfasyah) in the mixed doubles (David Salutt and Katharina Fink) with 21:15, 21:15.

In the third match on Sunday, the Bolzano team won against the Sicilian team “PIUME D’ARGENTO BC” with 5/0.
