At 31 years old, the Brussels native of Bulgarian origin, a high-level athlete at La Défense, who has just won the show “Les Traitors”, on RTL-TVI, recorded last September, is not insensitive when we talk about the elections of June 9.

His first action if he were in power? “It’s quite simple and I don’t think it will be surprising, but I would impose daily sporting activity at school. For children of all ages. It is proven that sport is good for your health. And then , an activity during the day would allow you to be much more productive afterwards. Spending a whole day in class, in a fairly monotonous rhythm, is boring. Breaking up this rhythm with a sporting activity lasting an hour and a half to two hours and a half. , from Monday to Friday, would improve attention.”

Not necessarily judo… “No! There may be schools specializing in ball sports, others in combat sports. Depending on these criteria, students could choose their school. And that’s it, quite simply.”

Toma Nikiforov’s measure would therefore be sporting, not financial, energy or other… “Frankly, I don’t know enough about it. We know that in politics, everything is not very clear. I prefer to talk about what I know, what is safe and scientifically proven. I think that if Belgium put this measure in place, it would contribute to the well-being of its children, but it would generate more budding champions.”

Sport is, it is true, the poor relation of the current school system, whatever its level. Not to mention the increased sedentary lifestyle of young people, too often and for too long “glued” to their smartphone or laptop screen. The sporting space-time proposed by Toma Nikiforov, father of Azalia (who will soon have a little sister…) “would also allow children to clear their minds”.
