The first step for those who want to achieve all types of driving license A, B, C and D is to submit an application to the Civil Motorization (Department of Land Transport). How long does the theory exam take

From the moment it shows up application for obtaining the A, B, C and D driving licence to support thetheory exam are available six months. If the candidate prepares in advance on the topics being examined, for example by practicing a lot with the quizzes, he/she can take the test even a short time after submitting the application.

In case of positive outcome of the theoretical exam the candidate is given the pink sheetwith which you can practice driving.

In case of negative outcome it is possible to repeat the theory test only once, always within the first six months of submitting the application for the driving license but at least one month after the failure.

How long does the practical driving test take

The pink sheet, obtained after passing the theory exam, has a duration of twelve months. In this period of time it is possible to support thepractical exam. For the B license you must first have completed at least 6 hours of driving practice with a professional instructor (2 hours in night vision conditions, 2 hours on extra-urban roads, 2 hours on motorways or extra-urban roads).

The first attempt at the practical exam is possible not before a month from the date of issue of the pink sheet.

In case of negative outcome you can take the exam again, but only at least one month after failing.

How long does the CQC take?

The Driver Qualification Card (CQC)the certification that anyone who transports goods or people on the road must obtain, is issued after obtaining a C or D license, after having attended a course and taken an exam.

If, after having obtained the type C and D licences, you also obtain the Cqc, you need to budget for additional time: in fact, it is mandatory to pass a specific suitability exam to which you are admitted after having attended a training course of 280 hours (ordinary training) or 140 (accelerated training), of which 20 or 10 hours of practical exercises. At the end of the training course, a certificate of attendance is issued and you can take the qualification exam within one year.
