Despite a great start, Bangladesh stopped with a target of 117 runs

Bangladesh got off to a great start with Dilara Akhtar’s stormy batting from one end. As always, Khei lost and could not do well in the end, had to leave the field without building a challenging capital.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to field in Sylhet today (May 02, 2024). The red-green representatives scored only 117 runs for 8 wickets before batting. India need to score 118 runs to win the series.

Maximum 39 runs came from Dilara’s bat. This batsman scored 39 runs in just 27 balls in the opening. Bangladesh scored 43 runs without losing any wicket in the power play based on his stormy innings. Dilara’s innings was decorated with 5 fours.

The opening pair was broken by Murshida Khatun’s dismissal in the third ball of the seventh over. Dropping for three, skipper Jyoti played a slow innings. This batsman scored 28 runs off 36 balls. 15 runs from Sobhana Mostari’s bat from 20 balls.

Apart from these three, no other batter has seen double figures. Fahima Khatun-Sharifa Khatun returned before opening the run book. Rabeya Khan was unbeaten in 7 runs.

Radha Yadav took maximum 2 wickets for India. Renuka Singh, Pooja Bhastrakar and Shreyanka Patil took 1 wicket each.
