Carolina Marín: Spanish Badminton Legend Honors Lugo with Visit
LUCO, Spain – Spanish badminton legend Carolina Marín was in Lugo this Saturday to participate in a massive event organized by the Lugo Fluvial Club, where she was awarded the highest distinction by the entity chaired by Tito Valledor.
Warm Welcome and Honors
Before receiving the recognition at 6:00 p.m., the Olympic champion signed the golden book of the Lugo club. Marín spent the morning walking the streets of the walled city and enjoyed a meal in the center, praising the local cuisine: “The spider crab was incredible,” she said, laughing with her interviewer about not yet trying Lugo’s famous octopus.
I am very grateful for all the love I have received and for this distinction. Any award I collect is for the values I can transmit as a female athlete, in which young people see themselves represented. I am proud to have valued a sport like badminton in Spain.Carolina Marín
