Norwegian representative forward Ola Solbakken was transferred from Serie A (Italian 1st division) Roma to Urawa Reds on loan, but was off the bench for all Meiji Yasuda J1 League games due to injury. Italian media “Forza Roma” is reporting that he will leave Urawa when the loan transfer period expires in June of this year.

On the 27th of this month, the same media featured Solbakken’s departure under the headline, “A big failure in Japan as well. He will return to Rome in the summer.” After introducing the current situation of the player, who has not been able to make his debut in a new world due to poor condition, he criticized, “Solbakken brought a surprise in a bad way in Urawa.”

After informing them that it is unlikely that he will return while still in Urawa, he added, “Due to the failure at Urawa, Roma will need to find another transfer destination for Solbakken, who will return in June this year. He remains until June 2027. He will seek to return to his home country,” he said, referring to the player’s intentions.

In addition, Italian media “Roma Press” reported that the player’s future is set to leave Urawa this summer, and that “After returning to Roma, he will discuss his future again with club executives.”

Solbakken was teammates with defender Marius Heubraten and forward Kasper Juncker (currently Nagoya Grampus) when he was with FK Bode/Glimt in the Norwegian first division. He moved to Roma from Bodet/Glimt in January last year, but was unable to establish himself as a regular at the club. He was loaned to Olympiakos in September, but only appeared in five games in the Greek First Division, and was used as a left back in the match against PAOK in Round 10 of the Greek First Division on November 5th last year. This attracted a lot of attention.
