The Gozo League 2021/22 is now completely available in the Transfermarkt database. The Nadur Youngsters became champions in the league, which only consists of clubs from the Maltese island of Gozo, with an 18-point lead over Ghajnsielem FC. It was the 13th championship for the club.
The top scorer was the Brazilian Marcelo Barbosa from Nadur with 24 goals in 21 games, followed by the Serbian Igor Nedeljković (Ghajnsielem) and the Brazilian Judivan (Nadur) with 17 and 13 goals.
A curiosity arose on the last matchday of the season. Joseph Portelli, president of the Maltese top club Hamrun Spartans, which competes in the Premier League, registered for a game as a professional from Nadur. He made his league debut at the age of 44 and even scored from a penalty in the 1-1 draw against Kercem Ajax FC.
