Kristaps Porzingis will miss the remainder of the series against the Miami Heat and likely the start of the Eastern Conference semifinals, if Boston advances.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla gave this information Wednesday during an interview with the radio show “Zolak & Bertrand” de 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“I don’t know the details, they use a lot of complicated words. But I know he will be re-evaluated next week.”said Mazzulla. “We will see how he responds to the treatment and if his condition improves in the first week. The goal is to work him like crazy over the next week and see where we go from there.”

The same injury as Giannis Antetokounmpo

Porzingis was already out for Game 5 on Wednesday night in Boston. The Celtics lead 3-1 against the Heat. If the Celtics get past the Heat, their next series will begin Sunday or Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Orlando Magic. The Cavs lead this series 3-2.

Porzingis was diagnosed with a strained right soleus (calf), the same injury as Giannis Antetokounmpo that has kept him out of the playoffs thus far. In the second quarter of Game 4, Latvian received a pass from Jaylen Brown and began driving before returning the ball to Brown and limping off the court to the locker room. It does not appear that anyone has made contact with Porzingis.
