State Selective Determines National Representatives

Toluca, Mexico – The Toluca Club recently served as the venue for the third State Selective of Badminton, a crucial competition that identified the Mexican athletes who will advance to the national qualifier for the 2026 competitive system.

The weekend-long event showcased a high level of technical skill, discipline, and dedication from the participating athletes. The Victoria Montero Badminton Room provided optimal playing conditions thanks to its quality surface and infrastructure.

Lisset Miranda, a badminton instructor at the Toluca Club, emphasized that the results of the selective reflect the consistent effort put in during training sessions. She highlighted the athletes’ commitment and the vital support of their families, stating, the results obtained in this selective are a reflection of the constant work carried out in each training session. Miranda also acknowledged the Club’s institutional support as a cornerstone for the development of Mexican badminton.

Positive Outlook for State of Mexico Badminton

Ricardo Flores Gómez, president of the Badminton Society of the State of Mexico, expressed his gratitude for the facilities provided and underscored the importance of hosting the state process in a first-class venue. There were three state selections and today we closed with a flourish; we already have our representatives who will attend the national qualifier, he said.

A total of 16 competitors, representing ten clubs affiliated with the state society, earned their place to represent the State of Mexico at the national qualifier in Guadalajara this April. This qualifier will be a key stage in evaluating the athletes against the nation’s top players.
