The German men’s team ensured a conciliatory conclusion at the Badminton World Championships in Chengdu, China. Germany won the final group game against the Czech Republic 3-2. The elimination in the preliminary round had already been determined after the lost duels with Taiwan (1:4) and Japan (0:5).

The pair Kenneth Neumann/Marvin Seidel and Samuel Hsiao in the singles scored important points against the Czech Republic. With the score at 2:2, the doubles Bjarne Geiss/Jan Colin V̦lker played for the win Рwith success. Germany thus ends the so-called Thomas Cup in third place in the group.

The team from the German Badminton Association (DBV) had to do without Mark Lamsfuß, Jones Jansen and Max Weißkirchen in China due to injuries and started as outsiders. The German women’s team did not qualify for the Team World Cup (Uber Cup).
