Ewa Pajor’s Unlucky Streak: Four Champions League Final Defeats
Polish international striker Ewa Pajor has bowed out of her fifth European final, marking her fourth consecutive defeat in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL).
A run of finals, a curse to break
Since 2016, Pajor has been a part of the major UWCL final clash, competing on the biggest stage four times. In 2023 alone, she faced Barcelona in the final, leading her team from Wolfsburg two goals up before a dramatic late turnaround saw Barcelona snatch victory 3-2.
Transfer to Barcelona proves pivotal, but no Champions League glory
After her successful transfer to Barcelona in 2024, Pajor guided her new club to the 2025 UWCL final, only to face off against Arsenal. Her co-heroics in topping the scoreboard haven’t been enough to change her final fate, as Arsenal emerged victorious 1-0.

Dreaming bigger
Despite her curse, Pajor continues to be a formidable force on the field. Her ability to lead attack lines and create scoring opportunities is undeniable. With time and perhaps a change in fortune, she may see her dream of winning the UWCL come true.
