Crews are diligently working day and night to finalize the construction of the Formula One paddock building in preparation for the highly anticipated inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix this autumn.

Located on the northeast corner of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane, the paddock structure is now 80 percent complete, following its commencement in November of last year.

What was once an empty dirt site has been impressively transformed into a magnificent four-story, 300,000-square-foot facility that will serve as the central hub for all activities during the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

With a workforce of 450 individuals, the paddock site is buzzing with activity on a daily basis. Terry Miller, overseeing the project as part of Miller Project Management, has confirmed that the project is on track to obtain a temporary certificate of occupancy from Clark County by mid-October.

Once the permit is secured, the staff will be able to begin customizing the facilities to meet the specific requirements of Formula One.

Despite the tight schedule, Miller expresses confidence that the paddock site will be fully prepared for the opening weekend of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, scheduled for November 16-18.

“We will definitely be ready in time for the race,” Miller assured. “These final three months will be filled with exciting progress.”

Impressive Features and Amenities

Noteworthy additions to the paddock building include a newly installed structural support on the roof, which will house a striking LED display in the shape of the iconic F1 logo. Testing of the display is planned to take place in the upcoming months. Additionally, escalators have been installed within the building for enhanced accessibility.

The ground floor of the paddock building will be dedicated to the drivers’ garages, while the second and third floors will house high-level suites. On the rooftop, exclusive spaces will be available for VIP spectators to enjoy the thrilling races.

Enhanced Spectator Experience

Adjacent to the paddock, the East Harmon spectator area is currently under construction and will feature five impressive structures. The main stand, stretching an impressive 1,066 feet in length and towering 78 feet high, will be the centerpiece of the area. Additional grandstands will also be strategically placed in the paddock area, near Ellis Island, according to Brett Taylor, senior director of operations for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Construction of the spectator areas within the paddock site commenced this month and is expected to be completed by October.

Just outside the site, on what will become part of the race course, a dedicated team of 130 workers is tirelessly working on the North and South Koval spectator areas.

The South Koval area will feature six structures, each boasting three-story glass-enclosed suites. Construction in this area began last month and is projected to be finalized by October.

Works on the north side of Koval began in June and are set to conclude next month. These three-story structures will offer a variety of spaces for racing enthusiasts to enjoy.
