Rafael Nadal is officially back, and he has brought along a Frenchman to join him in his winter preparation for the Australian Open. According to a report by The Team, Arthur Fils has been invited to train with the Spanish tennis star for a week. “He very kindly invited me,” confirmed the 19-year-old tennis player during a press conference after his victory against Van Assche at the Next Gen Masters. “I’m going to give it my all and try not to be overwhelmed by his forehands! We’re going to have some great training sessions, and I’m going to make the most of it.”

While Arthur Fils is excited about this opportunity, his trainer, Sébastien Grosjean, is even more thrilled. “I’m a fan of Rafa, I admire both the champion and the man, so I’m delighted that he’s coming back,” he revealed to the sports daily. “It’s a positive sign, and I can’t wait to see him again. We’ll observe his recovery and watch him train. His announcement of returning for Brisbane and Melbourne indicates that he is in good physical condition.” The question now is how long Rafael Nadal will maintain his peak performance.
