Antananarivo, June 25, 7:05 a.m. – Basketball coaches from several African countries are meeting in Madagascar at the start of the second half of this year. According to a circular published on April 18 by the Malagasy Basketball Federation (FMBB), the Big Island will host the African Mini-Basketball Forum from July 15 to 18. It is a development program of Fiba Africa with the support of the Fiba Foundation.

With the holding of this forum, the FMBB proceeded to modify the calendar of its national competitions for young people. The competitions commission has decided to postpone the national championships in the U14 and U16 categories by two weeks.

For the U14 categories, the General Assembly in December had planned to hold the boys’ and girls’ championships from July 13 to 21. This will finally be held from July 27 to August 4 in Mahajanga. Consequently, the U16 boys and girls championships scheduled for July 27 are postponed from August 24 to September 1 in Manakara.
