Around fifty certificates of recognition were awarded to the event’s partners

This Friday, May 3, 2024, the partners’ night ceremony was held at the Anselme Titiama SANOU cultural house. In total, around fifty certificates were awarded to the event’s partners.

Started last Saturday, the 21st edition of National Culture Week (NCW) is drawing to a close, leaving behind a legacy of cultural celebration and community engagement. In this dynamic of recognition and gratitude, a special ceremony was organized on Friday May 3, 2024 at the Anselme Titiama SANOU cultural house to honor the partners who contributed to the success of this event.

The said ceremony took place in the presence of several authorities, including the Minister in charge of Communication, Minister in charge of the Environment, Water and Sanitation, Minister of National Education, Secretary General of the Government and the Nigerien Minister in charge of Culture.

Under the spotlights of the evening, around fifty partners took turns, each receiving a certificate of recognition for their commitment to culture and the promotion of the arts in Burkina Faso. Among these renowned partners, key figures such as the Loterie Nationale Burkinabè (LONAB), official sponsor of the event, and Editions Sidwaya, “the newspaper of all Burkinabè”, were honored for their support.

Assethou Badoh, general director of Editions Sidwaya, shared her enthusiasm about this recognition, highlighting her media’s continued commitment to culture. She notably highlighted the efforts made by Sidwaya to cover the event through a special edition and the publication of the daily news dedicated to the SNC, called SNC Kibaru.

“Supporting culture is also a sovereign mission of Editions Sidwaya and receiving this certificate creates in us a feeling of pride, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the workers of Editions Sidwaya” she added.

The spokesperson for the partners and representative of LONAB, expressed his gratitude to the national authorities for having associated the image of the partners with this biennial of culture. He also reaffirmed LONAB’s commitment to actively supporting culture and the arts in Burkina Faso.

Minister in charge of communication, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo

The minister in charge of communication, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, welcomed the partners’ commitment to culture. Minister Ouédraogo underlined the essential role of these partners in the preservation and promotion of the country’s rich cultural heritage. He called on them to cultivate this partnership “fruitful” and to explore new forms of collaboration so that Burkinabè culture continues to shine nationally and internationally.

“We must continue to cultivate this fruitful partnership, explore new forms of collaboration and innovate in our approach so that our culture shines more,” he said.

This recognition ceremony for SNC Bobo 2024 partners demonstrates the importance « crucial » community support in the promotion and development of arts and culture in Burkina Faso. It also marks the collective desire to nourish and prosper the country’s cultural heritage for generations to come.
