Young Athletes Shine at School Games in Binéfar, Huesca
Binéfar, Huesca, played host to a vibrant display of young talent this weekend as athletes from Badminton Huesca, CB Binéfar, VV Osca, and CB Barbastro competed in the provincial phase of the School Games. The event saw wide participation and enthusiastic performances across various age categories.
Badminton Huesca Dominates in Multiple Categories
Badminton Huesca athletes secured numerous top positions, strengthening their standing in the overall School Games classifications. Key victories included:
- Jorge Castellar won the U-11 men’s individual title.
- Rodrigo Pradas, Lorien Fraga, and Daniel Arruebo claimed the top three spots in U-13 doubles.
- Hugo Anadón finished third in the U-15/17 individual event.
- Camelia Zaharia, Patricia Fanlo, and Zoe Vicente swept the top three places in U-13 women’s singles.

VV Osca experienced a particularly successful day thanks to Alba Cejalvo, who dominated the under-15 competition, winning both singles and doubles (with Vega Morer). Other notable results for VV Osca included:
- Sara Sorribes finished third in the under-17 singles and second in doubles (with Lucía Colay).
- Amelie Pisa and Pablo Viu placed third in U-13-15-17 mixed doubles.
- Valeria Viñao and Erika Vovchok were third in U-15 women’s doubles.
- Samantha Millán and Claudia Pomer finished third in U-17 doubles.
CB Barbastro Shows Promising Improvement
Players from CB Barbastro demonstrated improvement and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. Key results included:
- Mía García finished fourth in IF-11, and Emma Garcés was second.
- Mia and Emma placed third in D-11.
- Gael García reached the semifinals in IM-13.
- The Lorien-Enzo couple finished fifth in DM-13, while the Gael-Acher couple were second.
- Lucía Colay was second in IF-17, and Lucía-Sara Sorribes (VV Osca) were also second in DF-17.

In Tordesillas, VV Osca’s Emma Bibián and Andrea Mingarro competed in the Master N3 sub-15 and sub-19 events. Andrea Mingarro paired with Erik Castañeda (Badminton Huesca) and Emma Bibián with David Moreno from Huelva, each securing one victory in mixed doubles.
In Vilafranca del Penedés, Badminton Huesca and CB Binéfar athletes achieved further success. Izarbe Ara won U-13 women’s singles, and Izarbe Ara with Joel Hernando won U-15 mixed doubles. Andrés Oliva won U-15 men’s singles, with Enzo Dieste second and David Bastos third. Pablo Ara won U-17 men’s singles, defeating Diego Benedí. Pablo Ara and Guillermo Fernández won U-19 men’s doubles, while Andrés Bastos and Fernando Mur were runners-up. Nerea Marco and Laia Mínguez (CB Binefar) won U-19 women’s doubles, and Nerea Marco was second in U-17 women’s individual.
