Sascha’s confession: “I’m in contact with Boris, but I don’t know if he has problems with travel”
A super coach for Alexander Zverev? The world number two could take the example of Jannik Sinner and support his father and brother Misha, who are looking after him at the moment, with a coach to take a further step forward. The most likely name is Boris Becker. Zverev himself confirmed this in an interview with Tennis Magazine Germany, where the Roland Garros 2024 finalist spoke about his year.
after ferrer

“I’m very ambitious, I know they’ve been good months, I’ve won two Masters 1000s and reached Slam finals, but it’s not enough for me and I want more, I want to win majors and take another step forward – said the 27-year-old German – . I’m also ready to work with a new coach to work alongside my father, but it needs to be the right person. I won’t take just anyone now, just because I or someone else thinks it’s okay. I did it, I tried to work with many people and it didn’t always work, in fact almost never. The only one who really helped me was David Ferrer, but he didn’t want to travel much and so the collaboration couldn’t last long.”
“I love Becker”
—
Zverev at that point mentioned the name of Boris Becker, former coach of Djokovic and recently of Holger Rune (it didn’t work too well with the Dane). “I love Boris Becker – said the tennis player – and I also believe that he has an incredible knowledge of tennis, few know as much as he does. The problem is that I don’t know at the moment if he has problems moving and traveling (due to the well-known controversies with Becker’s justice, ed.), but once he has resolved and clarified the issue, we will be able to talk about it. We are in contact with him and we talk often. Now for Australia everything will remain as it is and then we will see.” A possible all-German tandem, therefore, to climb that peak which today seems unattainable and which is called Jannik Sinner.
