These competitions, which will be held for the first time in the country, were created by Decree 1052 of 2022, with the aim of strengthening the training of new talents, giving them the opportunity to show their skills and expanding the seed that can be representatives of the nurseries. country in international competitions.

From this year Jousts will be the beginning of the national sports cycle. Athletes representing the country at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics and the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games can come from there.

The cities of Pereira, Armenia and Manizales are ready to receive more than 5 thousand athletes. Some competitions are also held in Cali, Calima El Darin, Buenaventura, Bogotá and Nilo, Cundinamarca.

To date, the government has invested $65 billion to make these races an opportunity for inclusion and equity.

The sports that participate in the Olympic Games are Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Handball, Softball, Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Water Skiing, Soccer, Gymnastics, Golf, Judo. , karate do, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, skating, racquetball, rugby sevens, surfing, squash, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, triathlon, sailing, volleyball and sport climbing, the latter will be exhibited.

The 12 disciplines at the Paralympic level are Para Archery, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Bocce, Blind Soccer, PC Soccer, Para Cycling, Visual Judo, Para Swimming, Para Powerlifting, Para Table Tennis and Wheelchair Tennis. They all come together in the program for the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
