Magdalen chess is experiencing a boom, thanks to the outstanding performance of a group of young talents who are raising the name of the department in different national and international competitions.
Rafael De la Hoz, president of the Magdalena Chess League, expressed in dialogue with EL INFORMADOR his satisfaction with the achievements, especially those of Samuel Gutiérrez, who won third place in the sub-10 category of the national tournament. In addition to Gutiérrez, other young talents such as Valeria Ruiz, David Pinedo, Inés María Trujillo and Jaime Márquez are preparing for the national intercollegiate competitions, where they are expected to obtain excellent results.
