Yoga Instructor Jessica Barras Expands Practice with Bali Retreat
Published: February 25, 2026
From Extremadura to the Indonesian Island
American yoga instructor Jessica Barras is expanding her Power Flow Retreats
internationally with a new offering in Bali, Indonesia. The retreat, scheduled from July 3 to 8, 2026, in Ubud, promises a unique experience blending yoga, meditation, and connection with nature.
Barras has been organizing retreats in Extremadura for years, but this marks her first venture outside of Spain.
A Journey of Self-Discovery
Barras describes her approach as more than just a trip. No es solo un viaje, es un viaje hacia ti
– It’s not just a trip, it’s a journey to yourself
, she explains. Her teachings combine Power Yoga, Vinyasa, and energetic alignment, aiming to facilitate movement, stillness, and self-awareness.
The Path to Bali
Barras began her yoga journey 16 years ago in the United States even as attending university with her mother. After returning to Spain over a decade ago, she resumed the practice in Trujillo and has been teaching professionally for the past two years.
Currently, Barras supports herself through yoga, meditation, and complementary practices like Reiki and natal astrology. She leads a power yoga class in Trujillo on Wednesday afternoons, focused on activating what she calls the inner fire
– energy linked to motivation and vitality.
Yoga’s Holistic Benefits
According to Barras, yoga initially impacts the physical body. Cuando estiramos, relajamos la musculatura y colocamos el cuerpo, la mente y el espíritu van detrás
– When we stretch, relax the muscles and position the body, the mind and spirit follow
. For many experiencing stress or emotional blockages, this practice becomes a path to personal reconnection.
Ubud: A Natural and Spiritual Setting
The Bali retreat will be based in Ubud, surrounded by rice paddies and tropical jungle. The six-day program includes daily yoga and meditation, as well as an astrology workshop focused on connecting with the energy of Mars, symbolizing drive and action.
A central experience will be a sunrise hike to Mount Batur, intended as a ritual to connect with one’s personal purpose. La naturaleza nos lleva a lugares muy profundos dentro de nosotros
– Nature takes us to very deep places within ourselves
, Barras notes.
The retreat group will be limited to six to eight participants to ensure personalized attention and a safe space for individual processes.
Pricing and Local Collaboration
The retreat is currently offered at a launch price of 1,250 euros until April 30, 2026, after which it will increase to 1,350 euros. This price includes accommodation and activities; flights are arranged separately. Barras is collaborating with Inti Sol Viajes & Experiencias for the trip’s organization, strengthening the local ties of this internationally-focused project.
Barras will remain in Bali throughout July, hosting a second retreat in English from July 13 to 20, geared towards an international group primarily from New York.
From Local Practice to Global Stage
The retreat was initially announced through Barras’ social media channels (@power.flowyoga). Barras highlighted the connection between nature and wellness during the announcement, referencing a local park in Trujillo as symbolic of her approach.
For Jessica Barras, this experience represents both professional and personal growth. Siento que tengo que estar allí y que las personas que vengan también tienen que estar allí
– I sense that I have to be there and that the people who arrive have to be there too
, she states with conviction.
This project brings yoga practiced in small studios in Trujillo to one of the world’s most recognized spiritual destinations, demonstrating that wellness rooted in local communities can likewise have global reach.
