Find Your Zen: Yoga Classes Offered Within the Walls of Paris’ Gustave Moreau Museum

Paris offers a multitude of ways to experience art and wellness, and now, the Gustave Moreau Museum is blending the two. Yoga enthusiasts can now practice their poses surrounded by the evocative works of the 19th-century Symbolist painter, Gustave Moreau.

A Unique Setting for Mindful Movement

Located in the 9th arrondissement, the Gustave Moreau Museum, housed in the artist’s former residence, provides an intimate and historically rich atmosphere for these unique yoga sessions. The museum is known for its majestic spiral staircases and walls adorned with art, creating a visually stimulating environment for mindful practice.

The ‘Yang to Yin’ Yoga Experience

Classes are held in the museum atelier on the second floor. The Yang to Yin format is designed to be accessible to all levels, beginning with a dynamic phase to release tension and awaken muscles. This is followed by a slower, more introspective yin yoga practice, holding poses for longer periods to promote deep relaxation.

The session culminates in a guided meditation held in front of a work of art from the museum’s collection. This final stage aims to nourish the mind after activating the body, creating a truly immersive and meaningful experience.
