Ivory Coast hold the embarrassing record of lowest team collection in recognized T20Is. Ivory Coast was bowled out for just 7 runs against Nigeria yesterday. The two teams met in the sub-regional qualifiers for the T20 World Cup. This is also the lowest team collection in international cricket.
Batting first, Nigeria scored 271 runs for 4 wickets. In response, Ivory Coast was reduced to 7 runs. Nigeria won by 264 runs. Seven batsmen of the team could not open the account of runs. Otatara Mohammed scored the maximum 4 runs.
Earlier in T20 the lowest team collection was 10 runs. Isle of Man scored 10 against Spain in February last year. Then in September this year, Mongolia were all out for 10 runs against Singapore. This time Ivory Coast surpassed their record.
Salim Salau scored a century for Nigeria. He scored 112 off 53 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes. Besides, Isaac Okpi played an explosive innings of 65 runs off 23 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes.
Ivory Coast are all out in 7.3 overs. This was their second T20 match in recognized cricket. Earlier in their first match, Syria were bowled out for just 21 runs chasing a target of 190 runs against Lyon. In 2022 they were recognized as associate countries of the ICC.
