The West Indies Cricket Board has announced the squad for the two Tests of the ICC Test Championship against Bangladesh.
Good news for Bangladesh. West Indies’ pace all-rounder Jason Holder is out for the two Tests. He was sidelined with a shoulder injury. However, they will host Bangladesh with a strong pace attack even without Holder. The hosts have lined up a squad with dangerous pacers like the experienced Kemar Roach, the long-bodied Aljari Joseph, the promising Shamar Joseph, Anderson and Jayden Silsell. Apart from these five specialist pacers, pace bowling all-rounder Justin Greaves has been brought back to the team.
Craig Brathwaite will lead the team. West Indies played the last Test against South Africa last August. The Caribbean made four changes from that squad. Spinners Kevin Sinclair and Brian Charles return to the team. There is no change in the batting line-up. The recent regulars are in the team.
The two-match series will begin with the Antigua Test on November 22. The second Test is at Kingston, starting on 30 November. Test cricket will return to Sabina Park after more than three years with this match.
West Indies Test Team:
Craig Brathwaite (Captain), Joshua De Silva (Vice-Captain), Alik Athanez, Casey Carty, Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Tevin Imlakh, Alzari Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Mikheil Lui, Anderson Philip, Kemar Koch, Jayden Sills, Kevin Sinclair and Jomel Warrican.
