Wembanyama, 22, spoke with poise about his potential to become a leading figure in the league, stating, It’s something that will find an answer on its own. It’s not something you can force or artificially construct in a way that people respond to, so I don’t worry about that.

Regarding his chances in the MVP race, Wembanyama acknowledged his ambition, saying, I know I’m in the MVP conversation. Obviously it’s one of my goals. I think the main argument in favor is the success of the team, it’s always the first thing. I’m also aware that I have to step on the accelerator in the last few games of the season to win that award.

Spurs Dominate Nets with Balanced Attack

The Spurs’ victory wasn’t solely reliant on Wembanyama’s performance. San Antonio showcased its depth with seven players scoring in double figures. Julian Champagnie led the charge with 26 points, shooting 10-of-14 from the field and 6-of-9 from three-point range.

Despite a quieter scoring night, Wembanyama contributed eight rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. The Spurs shot 49% overall and 40% from beyond the arc, and outrebounded the Nets 50-39.

Extending the Streak

This win marks the Spurs’ longest winning streak since a 13-game run during the 2015-16 season. The team currently holds a record of 43-16, positioning them as a strong contender in the Western Conference.
