Not just trekking, but also yoga, poetry and walks with your four-legged friends. Here are the proposals of the ‘Compagnia dei cammini’ to regenerate body and mind

The well-being of the body (and mind) starts with relaxation. Walking with your dog, walking barefoot in the fields, writing or enjoying the silence of nature. These are just some of the experiences offered by ‘Company of the paths‘ in view of autumn, which this year focuses on “inner paths”. Not only trekking, but also yoga, qigong and many other activities that aim to “walk in silence to savor everything we see and hear, without being confused by the words of others”.
“Walking has always been an important means of knowing and knowing oneself,” he explains Luca Gianotticoordinator of the Compagnia dei Cammini, the association that deals with sustainable tourism in Italy and Europe. “Whoever sets out on a journey,” he continues, “even unconsciously, puts himself in relation with the territory and with his own body, his own mind and that poetic and spiritual part in which human existence is wrapped up.”
Different approaches, but a common line: to offer experiences, insights and new possibilities in the field of attention and awareness. “Walking is the fundamental support – Gianotti underlines – because, as walkers, we know and have experienced first-hand those small deep insights which then fully entered into our existence: slowness, observation, encounter, curiosity, non-judgment, listening, welcoming others, the non-diversity between us and others”.
The enchantment of the Marche with dogs
For those who want to experience an adventure on foot with their 4-legged friend, the Company’s proposal is from 10th to 14th September with ‘The Enchantment of the Marche with Dogs’. Led by experts in animal behavior, this walk is an experience to understand your dog and experience the relationship with your four-legged friend in a different way from everyday life. A way to get to know your pet better in a natural environment, with woods, rivers and pastures. Guests of a local family and their farmhouses, every day with a light backpack, you discover the culture of this part of theMarche Apennines.
Between Water and Haiku in Venice
For those who want to combine walking with a way to write and express themselves creatively, the right proposal is, from 19th to 22nd September‘Between water and haiku – Walking in the Venetian lagoon’. Since the time of Matsuo Bashō, in 17th century Japan, haiku poetry was born with walking in contact with nature. Reconnecting to this tradition, the Compagnia dei Cammini and the Scuola del Viaggio propose a traveling haiku writing workshop in the Venetian lagoon.
You walk in silence
Dal September 22nd to 28thin Piedmont there is another experience to be had on the road, that of the ‘Val Maira… en silence!‘. We suspend speech and let the silence work for us on a medium-difficulty walking journey through the Occitan valley in the province of Cuneo on a less frequented side.
Walk Yoga in Catalonia
A path of peace is that of ‘Walk Yoga in Catalonia: along the Costa Brava’, from 5th to 12th Octoberwhich includes awareness practices on the move that range from yoga, to qigong, to meditation, in two of the most evocative natural parks in Catalonia, the Aigüamolls de l’Empordà Park and the Cap de Creus Park. Another special walk is the one from 15 to 20 October on the Island of Elba with “free feet”. The medium difficulty route is experienced walking barefoot or with minimalist shoes that offer essential protection to the sole of the foot and allow greater articulation and movement in alternation with trekking boots. The nature of the terrain is evaluated and needs are listened to with the sole aim of feeling free and at ease.
