Stan Wawrinka (ATP 178) will face a player not to enter the first round of the US Open. The 39-year-old Vaudois benefited from an invitation to join the final.

Last year’s sixteenth-place finisher at Flushing Meadows, Stan Wawrinka will play heavily as he has 90 points to secure a Grand Slam final. The winner of the 2016 edition can meet the Chilean Nicolas Jarry (26) in the 2nd round before a possible duel with the world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the 3rd round.

Dominic Stricker (181), who uses a safe place in New York, has a lot to lose since he reached the 16th round last year (205 points). The Bernese also suffered a setback during the draw, in the first round against Argentina’s Francesco Comesana (108).

Note that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who are number 3 in the table and the winner of the US Open in 2022, are expected to meet in the final round. Defending and Olympic champion Novak Djokovic (2) is the man to beat at the bottom of the men’s table.
