Monterrey, Nuevo León, January 20, 2025.- 19-year-old Vanessa Garcia, a member of the new generation of elite athletes from Nuevo León, was announced today as the number one player at the Primera Fuerza Oxtepec National Championship 2025 in Mexico. , in the discipline of badminton.

As a result of the Royal Athlete and Inde Scholarship program for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, Garcia secured her spot for the Asuncion 2025 Junior Pan American Games.

UANL sports organization faculty student and 2024 national university champion, experienced player from Potosi, Sabrina Solis, won 2-0 (part 21-3 and 21-10) at the end of the tournament.

Isabela Puente and Cecilia Madeira of Monterrey won the silver medal in the women’s doubles category. Puente and Edwin Garcia did the same with a second place finish in mixed wins.

For now, racketeer Garcia, who is close to competing for the Paris 2024 Olympics, will be at the Asuncion 2025 Pan American Games with Nuevo Leon’s shooting, handball and canoeing representatives (so far).
