Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami
Addressing the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2024 at the Parade Ground in Dehradun, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for organizing this event. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that representatives of more than 50 countries and more than 6000 experts are participating in this program. More than 250 stalls set up in the expo are proving the acceptance of Ayurveda at the global level.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented ‘Uttarakhand AYUSH Policy’ to give impetus to AYUSH manufacturing, wellness, education, research and production of medicinal plants. Along with this, the state government is working with commitment to establish 50 new yoga and wellness centers along with starting AYUSH tele-consultation in the coming years.
Getting guidance from PM Modi
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this conference will promote mutual knowledge sharing and encourage various research works in the field of Ayurveda as well as new opportunities for cooperation and business. Giving information about the work being done by the state government in the field of AYUSH, he said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is also continuously working for the promotion of Ayurveda in the state.
Chief Minister Dhami said that currently 300 Ayush based ‘Ayushman Health Centers’ are being operated in our state. AYUSH consultation is being provided by more than 70 experts through e-Sanjeevani portal. Now AYUSH hospitals with 50 beds and 10 beds are being established in every district. Apart from this, the government is trying to promote the production of Ayurvedic herbs by establishing one village in each district as a model AYUSH village.
Proposal of All India Institute of Ayurveda
During this time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has requested the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India to establish the All India Ayurveda Institute in Uttarakhand. Said that along with the Hindi names of our herbs, the English names should also be publicized. This will make it easier for local herbs to reach the global market.
Pragya Bhoomi of Uttarakhand Ayurveda
The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has been the wisdom land of Ayurveda and medicinal wealth since ancient times. Medicinal herbs found in our state have played an important role in establishing Ayurveda as the basic element of health. Ayurveda is a unique medical system of the world which has been ensuring the health of human civilization since ancient times. Ayurveda is not limited to mere herbs and medicines but Ayurveda is a special art of living.
Ayurvedic medicines under one roof
Union Minister of State for AYUSH Pratap Rao Jadhav said that due to the initiatives taken in the field of AYUSH during the last 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the manufacturing of AYUSH products has increased eight times. Now AYUSH and herbal products are being exported to more than 150 countries of the world. He said that Ayurveda is also moving forward by adopting technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, said that organizing the World Ayurveda Conference not only helps in making the AYUSH system recognized at the global level, but also increases the growth of this sector around the area where the event is being organised. Describing Uttarakhand as the ideal state for this event, he said that many herbs mentioned in Ayurveda books are found in the Himalayas.
PM Narendra Modi sent a message
In the conference, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi read out the message sent towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The inaugural session was also addressed by National Organizing Secretary, Vigyan Bharti Dr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Chairperson of the Tenth World Ayurveda Congress Vaidya PM Warrier, Secretary Ayush Ravinath Raman, Uttarakhand Government. On this occasion, state Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Aggarwal, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Khajan Das, Savita Kapoor, Umesh Sharma Kau, Kishore Upadhyay, Jhansi MP Anurag Sharma, Acharya Balkrishna were prominently present.
