The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team started their 2026 season on a high note, defeating the University of Kansas Jayhawks 7-4 in front of an electric sellout crowd of 5,862 fans at the UTRGV Baseball Stadium. This marked the sixth-largest attendance in program history and the largest on opening day.
