Pitching Dominates in Low-Scoring Affair

Thayer pitched 6.0 innings, allowing only two hits while striking out four and walking three.
Olivier Shines for Lamar
Lamar’s Chris Olivier (2-0) delivered a stellar performance, pitching 7.0 hitless innings with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

pitched two scoreless innings in relief, adding two strikeouts.
The Vaqueros (3-7, 0-2 SLC) finally recorded their first hit in the eighth inning when junior Chayton Fischer
hit a 1-out ground-rule double off Fabian Ramirez. UTRGV then loaded the bases before Nathan Darden induced a double play to end the inning.
