US Orléans made a strong, very strong, by winning, this Saturday January 18, in Paris, the Judo Pro League, the French championship for mixed professional teams launched by the Federation. Anthony Rodriguez’s team first dismissed Sainte Geneviève Sports in the semi-final, without ceremony (6-2), before dominating Auxerre (5-4) in the final, where they had to work hard.
The USO, in fact, struggled to launch in its final, and found itself trailing 2-0, after the defeats of Anaïs Perrot (-52kg) and Enzo Jean (-66 kg). If Martha Fawaz (-57kg) held her place, Alex Mancini (-73kg) lost afterwards, so Auxerre continued to lead the race (3-1). Lili Nguyen (-63kg) and Arnaud Aregba (-81kg) won consecutively and allowed US Orléans to get back level with the Yonne club (3-3). Max Laborde (-90kg) and Anne Fatoumata Baira (+70kg) each found the opening and brought the last two points similar to the coronation of Orléans in this Judo Pro League.
The USO, eleven times winner of the European Cup in its rich history, obtained a major national trophy, confirming its return to the front of the French scene.
