Upper Austria Honors Sports Heroes
Enns’ own Kurt Fenzl “goldened” for decades of water skiing contributions
Enns, Upper Austria – The region’s most prestigious sporting honor was bestowed upon 137 recipients this year, with among them, Enns’ own Kurt Fenzl being awarded the State Sports Badge in Gold. Fenzl, an institution in water skiing, has dedicated around 50 years of service, heading the sports in Enns and the Austrian national team.

The State Sports Badge is a very special recognition for outstanding achievements and many years of voluntary commitment.
Silver honors go to Michael Giel and Michael Tischlinger
Two state sports badges in silver were awarded to Enns-based athletes, with Michael Giel (Enns) and Michael Tischlinger (St. Florian) receiving the honors. Key achievements include:
- Michael Giel sen. – Developer and board member of ASKÖ Enns, a thriving badminton club in Upper Austria.
- Michael Tischlinger – Secretary of the State Police Department and the Vice President of the Felipe Sports Association (PSV), with a long history of athletic and organizational contributions.

Fistball aces Daniel Bodingbauer and Michael Klaffenböck shine in silver
The State Sports Badge in silver was also awarded to active athletes Daniel Bodingbauer and Michael Klaffenböck, both belonging to Enns’ TV Haka Wohnplan fistball team. The pair recently claimed a World Cup title in Jona, Switzerland.
