Competition Kicks Off with Enthusiasm

Udaipur, Rajasthan – The 12th Inter-Divisional Civil Services Sports Competition began with enthusiasm and sporting spirit on Thursday at the Maharana Pratap Sports Village, also known as the city of lakes. District Collector Namit Mehta officially inaugurated the event by hoisting the flag and leading athletes in an oath to compete with sportsmanship and discipline.

Key Attendees and Opening Ceremony

The inauguration ceremony, held at the cricket stadium within the sports complex, was attended by Commissioner Colonization Navneet Kumar, Additional Divisional Commissioner C.R. Devasi, ADM Deependra Singh Rathore, Additional Commissioner Devasthan Giteshashree Malviya, and social workers Gajpal Singh and Chandragupt Singh Chauhan.

District Collector Mehta addressed the teams from all divisions, wishing them luck in the games. Guests emphasized the competition as a platform to enhance sports talent and mutual coordination.

Competition Details

District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal announced that a total of eight teams are participating, including one from Jaipur headquarters, with over 800 athletes showcasing their skills. The competition includes events in table tennis, cricket, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, and kabaddi.

ADM Administration Deependra Singh Rathore concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks.

Recent Developments at Maharana Pratap Sports Village

Recent inspections by District Collector Namit Mehta have focused on the progress of facilities under the Chief Minister’s budget announcements and projects by the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA). Improvements were directed for the 10-meter shooting range, with plans for the construction of 25-meter and 50-meter ranges. Emphasis was also placed on improving changing rooms and sanitation facilities, particularly for women athletes, at the athletics stadium.
