Tiger Woods Hints at Possible Masters Return in 2026

Augusta National may once again host Tiger Woods this April. The 15-time major champion has indicated he is not ruling out a return to competitive golf at the 2026 Masters Tournament, despite a recent series of health challenges.

Woods, who turned 50 in December, has not competed since the 2024 Open at Royal Troon. He has been sidelined due to physical setbacks, including disc replacement surgery in October and a ruptured Achilles. He acknowledged the difficulties of his recovery, stating, My body has been through a lot.

Despite these challenges, Woods remains determined to return to the highest level of competition. He confirmed he is trying to make a comeback, but admitted the process is challenging. He also noted he is able to (hit full shots), not well every day, but I can hit them.

“I know I will be there. We will open The Patch. Trevor (Immelman) and I are going to attend a big dinner, that of Rory McIlroy. If I’m going to play the Masters? Is this a possibility? Yes.”

Future Plans and Champions Tour Consideration

Woods’ pre-tournament preparation remains uncertain. He discussed the possibility of making his return on the PGA Tour Champions, noting that the opportunity to use a golf cart is available on that tour, something he doesn’t consider for the PGA Tour.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do first. What I’m going to try to play as a tournament before. Whether This proves the PGA Tour or the senior circuit or a ‘member-guest’, I don’t know.”
