Badminton Beauty Thuy Linh Parks Deep into Vietnam Open

Hanoi, Vietnam – The Badminton World’s attention turns to Hanoi as the Vietnam Open kicked off today. The tournament’s first major upset saw top seed Nguyen Thuy Linh struggle in her opening match against Taiwan’s Liang Ting-Yu.

Linh, a three-time Vietnam Open champion and world No.18, was undone by her nemesis, Liang, who she has lost to twice previously. Liang, ranked 70th in the world, defeated Linh in straight games, 21-9, 21-15. Playing at home, Linh was gracious in defeat. “I underestimated Liang and paid the price,” said Linh.
