“Kuri, what are you doing!”

On January 4, 2018, someone I deeply respect passed away. This is Senichi Hoshino.
I was really shocked and still can’t believe it.
When I retired from active duty at the age of 29 and started my second life, Hoshino was the manager of the Chunichi Dragons.
When I was a newscaster and critic, I had the opportunity to accompany him overseas for reporting, and I learned a lot of things.
As a director, I really learned a lot from him.
The last time I met Mr. Hoshino was at the draft meeting (2017).
The Fighters secured the negotiating rights for Kotaro Kiyomiya, with seven teams competing for the No. 1 draft pick. At the venue, Hoshino was the only one who seemed to have no idea about Kiyomiya.
“What are you doing, Kuri?”
He got angry. This is about the Fighters, who had a disappointing performance the year after becoming number one in Japan.
I was like, “With that member in there, what’s the score?”
He lamented and gave encouragement as if it were his own team.
