The referee of the match with the Italians felt that I treated him with disrespect. It wasn’t like that

Team Belarus Beach Soccer won the right to play at the World Championships, which will be held in the Seychelles next May. This will be the fourth consecutive world forum with the participation of the team. Head coach Nicholas Alvarado in a conversation with Alexander Kananovich, he shared his emotions in hot pursuit.

— I am very pleased with the way the players spent the entire qualifying tournament. I wouldn’t like to divide it into different stages, because the final result is the result of the guys’ work over the two weeks spent in Cadiz. And I’m proud of them because they will compete again at the World Championships.

— Just like in the Europa League, there was a disastrous match. How can you explain the major defeat from the Italian team?

“The match was lost, but you need to understand that this is a sport. And all teams work hard to achieve their goals. The rivals don’t give each other a single victory just like that. And our match with the Italians is an example of a fight between two great teams. The one who demonstrated the best game won.

— In that match you were sent off. For what? Was it convenient to lead from the podium?

“The referee felt that I treated him with disrespect. Although this was not the case. And leading a team from the podium is the worst thing that can happen for a coach. Because he has to be on the bench to feel the dynamics of the game,” Alvarado said.
