The five-day HS Chadha Memorial Champions Cup Tennis Tournament witnessed fierce competition on the fourth day. Avnish Rastogi of the city has entered the grand competition by defeating the Delhi team. More than thirty matches of different categories were played on Monday. A total of 34 matches were held in the Harbhajan Singh Chaddha Memorial Champions Cup, organized by the International Tennis Federation and under the joint auspices of the All India Tennis Association, at the Police Games Club of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Police Academy. In the 65 age group, Suresh defeated Sunil 7-5, 4-0. OP Dixit defeated Rakesh Kohli 6-0, 6-4. Punar Bhasin of Noida defeated Amar of Nainital 6-1, 6-0. The pair of Avnish Rastogi and Vijay Kumar made it to the finals by defeating the Delhi team’s pair of Dhirendra and Harshvardhan 6-0, 6-3. In the women’s category, the pair of Nikunj and Monica defeated the pair of Vibha Chaudhary and Nazneen 6-2, 6-1. Earlier, all the players expressed grief over the untimely demise of Moradabad tennis player Karan Duggal. During this, Patron of Moradabad Tennis Association, Sardar Gurjit Singh Chaddha, Association President Sanjeev Jain, Vijay Kumar, Rakesh Kohli, Harendra Singh, Amitabh Chaturvedi, Sanjay Shah, Karanveer etc. were present.
