The city of Riccione hosted the delegation of the Italian Judo national team yesterday afternoon at the Palazzo del Turismo – Specialty of Kata from the Region of Emilia-Romagna, who recently shone at the European Championship in Sarajevo and is preparing to represent us at the World Championship in Las Vegas.
During the meeting organized in collaboration with the Asd Centro Kiai Judo in Riccione where the Sports councilor Simone Imola was also present, the mayor Daniela Angelini expressed her sincere appreciation for the work and results obtained by the team. “It is a great honor to welcome you to Riccione. Your commitment and victories are a source of inspiration for our entire community,” declared the first citizen. “We are especially proud to have among you Filippo Marzaloni, our fellow citizen, who has already raised the name of Riccione and will continue to do so in future international events”. Marzaloni, together with Nicola Bellosi, won bronze at the 2024 European Kata Championship last June in Sarajevo.
The mayor, during the meeting, nominated Filippo Marzaloni, athlete of the Asd Kiai Judo Center in Riccione“Ambassador of Riccione in the World”, thus recognizing his outstanding contribution and his representation of the city worldwide.
The athletes of the delegation, which include prestigious names such as Laura Bugo, Barbara Bruni Cerchier, Mauro Collini, Tommaso Rondinini, Anna Demola, Nicola Bellosi, Lisa Cesario, Alessio Quartieri, Alex and Luca Cavina and Lisa Vertuani, all many national and international. medalists, they showed remarkable dedication and determination. Also present at the meeting was Cesare Amorosi, the head of the delegation and coach of the European Championships and World Championships (2021-2022-2023-2024) and member of the national Kata FI.JLKAM commission.
