Grizzlies Rout Mavericks Behind Spencer’s 25 Points

DALLAS (AP) — Cam Spencer scored 25 points off the bench and Olivier-Maxence Prosper had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 124-105 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

Grizzlies Overcome Short-Handed Status

The Grizzlies snapped a three-game losing streak despite playing without several key players. Memphis had lost seven of their previous eight games but dominated throughout the contest. Star point guard Ja Morant was absent for the 16th consecutive game due to a left elbow injury, and Zach Edey (ankle) and Cedric Coward (knee) were too sidelined.

Key Performances Lead the Way

Scotty Pippen Jr. Contributed 15 points, while Jaylen Wells and GG Jackson each added 12 points for Memphis. For the Mavericks, Brandon Williams led the scoring with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Daniel Gafford added 14 points, and Dwight Powell recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Max Christie also scored 13 points for Dallas.

Mavericks Struggle at Home

The Mavericks have now lost seven consecutive games at home. Despite a brief attempt to close the gap in the second quarter, with a 3-pointer from Miles Kelly bringing the score to 44-36, Dallas couldn’t sustain the momentum. That was as close as Dallas would get the rest of the way.

Looking Ahead

The Grizzlies will continue their road trip, playing at Indiana on Sunday night. The Mavericks will host Oklahoma City on Sunday night.
