From the brilliant season finale in June, decorated with the silver medal of the Italian Karate Beginners Championships, Kumite specialty, of the young Trident Gianluigi, Polisportiva Libertas Molfetta finds itself at the beginning of the season in a difficult competition calendar involving in all sectors.

The month of September is dedicated to the continuation and preparation of the new season, which begins immediately for the Wrestling sector with two youth tournaments, the City of Trani Trophy and the Bisignani Memorial in Bari to promote youth promotion activity Olimpica discipline developed by Polisportiva Libertas under the technical guidance of teacher Amato Michele. Last October, athletes from the Judo and Karate sectors joined the tatami.

De Robertis Cosimo gained experience in Judo competition, looking for useful points to improve his national ranking. Together with coach Alicino Sebastiano, he participated in different stages of the 2024 Italy Judo Trophy that took place in Southern Italy (Taranto and Rossano Calabro). Athletes of different age groups, from children to teenagers, are preparing for the next youth events.

The main satisfaction of the competition comes from Karate, under the technical guidance of the instructor Antonio Coppolecchia and the management of Master Giovanni Mastropierro, especially in the youth classes.

On Sunday 27 October, in Noicattaro in the Under 12 and Under 14 Junior Kumite Grand Prix, Polisportiva Libertas Molfetta got two gold medals with De Palo Gabriele (Under 12) and D’Agostino Antonella (Under 14), winners in many games in the respective categories. On the third step of the podium went Tridente Gianluigi, defeated in the semi-final by the talented Giuliani of Fudoshin. Tridente and Giuliani are the future of the regional committee of Puglia and probably beyond, in their weight category. They are two athletes who, apart from their different physical growth, are destined to meet and fight often in the future, with matches that always have an uncertain outcome. Good performances were also achieved by the young Amato Irene, ranked fifth, and the enthusiastic Tunzi Francesco, eliminated early in the tournament. For better or worse, some tournament matches are decided by highly questionable technical evaluations by referees; but youth tournaments serve athletes and referees to gain experience and develop their respective technical aspects.

The more mature athletes, however, participate in the CTR Puglia meetings to improve their preparation for the various stages of the Kumite Open League in which they have already participated or will participate in the month of November (Minervini, Roselli, Sasso, Trident) . Some of these athletes, however, were selected by the Regional Committee for the Regions Trophy. Among them we are happy to mention Farinola Biagio, a young man born in 1956 who will represent Puglia in Kata Master E.

November and December will still be busy months, not forgetting the effort that the technicians Amato, Coppolecchia and Alicino have to endure for the ordinary training management of different courses and different age groups. As always, Polisportiva Libertas Molfetta is committed to the growth of contact sports (Fighting, Judo, Karate) from a very young age, offering introductory sports courses and introducing these disciplines starting from age groups of 2 years.
