Local Club Makes History with Three Champions
The Tarn individual seniors plus 2026 championship, held over three months from November 2025 to January 19, 2026, saw an unprecedented achievement by the Puylaurens Cuq-Toulza Tennis Club (TCPCT). The club, with seven licensees participating in age categories ranging from over 35 to over 80, had three players crowned champions in their respective divisions.
Unprecedented Triumphs
- Sylvie Berthod, the lone female representative, won the over 60 ladies category, making it her third consecutive title.
- Jean-Pierre Bonnet, the club’s president, was crowned champion in the over 75 men category.
- Frank Evers claimed victory in the men’s over 80 category, becoming the third player from TCPCT to achieve this feat.

This outstanding performance has never been achieved by the TCPCT previously, marking a significant milestone in the club’s history.

Following their triumphs in Tarn, Sylvie, Jean-Pierre, and Frank are now qualified to compete in the Midi-Pyrénées individual championship in Balma. If they continue their winning streak, they could advance to the Occitanie championship, with Cap d’Agde and Carcassonne staging the ladies’ and men’s events, respectively. The ultimate goal? Representing the region at the French championships held at Roland Garros.
