The company New Sotem SARL temporarily handed over, on Tuesday, September 17, the Table Tennis Gymnasium of the Tata Raphael stadium to the Congolese government, via the Congolese Agency for Major Works (ACGT). This structure was built and used as part of the 9th Francophone Games which took place between July and August 2023, in Kinshasa.
The General Manager of New Sotem SARL, Gilbert Cizungu, indicated that this discount is a contractual obligation.
He said he kept the keys to the gymnasium for a year after noting certain flaws in order to correct them.
« After the 9th Francophone Games, we noted small flaws that had to be corrected.” he stressed.
Gilbert Cizungu however reminded the Government to pay their bills before adding that the final delivery of this work will take place shortly.
Before handing over the keys to this gymnasium, the delegations from both parties visited the playing area, passing through all the compartments including the offices, the VIP lounge, the changing rooms, the latrines, the anti-doping control room, the infirmary and the ticket office of this building.
