On Wednesday, as part of the National School Sports Day, the one hundred and thirty pupils from the five sixth-grade classes at the college took part in a morning entirely devoted to sport.

This event takes place every year in different forms. This year, the team of physical education and sports teachers proposed a menu of five disciplines to introduce activities that will be offered by the college’s sports association affiliated with the UNSS (National Union of School Sports).

The young people selected three, which allowed the teachers to have them try two for which they were very motivated, forming balanced groups to practice futsal, badminton, climbing, basketball or table tennis.

Five sports, five workshops, two of choice practiced by the students

This last workshop was offered by the Vierzon ping club with which the Sports Association will develop a partnership this year. It was Aurélien Renard, an educator at the club, who supervised it with another member of the association. All this should allow a maximum number of students to access associative life from 6th to 3rd grade with a sports practice based on an activity that will be developed during PE. It is a bridge between the school institution and the world of sport in order to strengthen the presence of children in clubs and lead them to a regular sports practice that can continue until adulthood.

Seven sports will be offered in UNSS. The license costs only €8 per year. One hundred and thirty-six children were licensed at the college last year. The goal is to reach one hundred and fifty this year…

Training sessions most often take place during lunchtime and competitions on Wednesday afternoons.

This partnership contributes to the implementation of extended reception until 6 p.m. in the colleges of the Priority Education Networks which is being generalized this year.

The activities are coordinated by PE teachers Camille Léonard and Aurélien Dessioux, with the support of their new colleagues, Alice Leal and Florian Androuy.
