They will receive the award on Monday, December 23.

With more than a hundred members voting, and just like 73 years ago, the Circle of Sports Journalists (CPD) chose the most outstanding exponents of the different disciplines during 2024 and in the rodeo those chosen were the current champions of Chile and riders from the Doña Dominga Casa Silva Criadero, Luis Huenchul and Felipe Undurraga.

Huenchul and Undurraga won the 75th National Rodeo Championship in the Crescent Monumental “Gonzalo Vial Vial” in the bred mares Favela and Huasteca with 41 good points.

The Circle of Sports Journalists explained that “the award for the Best Athletes represents the main and maximum recognition of the performance of the exponents, as it is an award given by critics and given annually since 1951.”

“The board of the Circle of Sports Journalists of Chile met to learn and certify the results of the voting of 113 members who participated to choose the best athletes, journalists, as well as select the special awards”

Based on the winners by disciplines, on Friday the 13th the CPD board will meet with the Minister of Sports, Jaime Pizarro, as well as with the authorities of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the National Sports Institute, to choose the Best of the Best McDonald’s, both in conventional and Paralympic sport.

The winners will be kept confidential by the minister of faith of that vote, the notary Juan Facuse Heresi, until the award ceremony for the Best Athletes, which will take place on Monday, December 23, at 12:00 p.m., at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes.
