‘North Korean defector propaganda group’ delivers propaganda materials against North Korea to Ukraine

Amid analysis that a battle between the North Korean and Ukrainian troops dispatched to Russia is imminent, it has been reported that former military defectors produced propaganda materials to induce desertion of North Korean soldiers deployed to Russia and delivered them to the Ukrainian side.
On the 11th (local time), the ‘North Korean Defector Propaganda Group’, comprised of former military defectors and their families, announced that it had produced leaflets and audio files for radio broadcasts explaining how to escape and delivered them to the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea. They were formed on the 25th of last month, led by Jang Se-yul, head of the Korean Unification Solidarity.
The propaganda team plans to deliver propaganda materials directly to the Ukrainian military. It is reported that two members, including Director Jang, will meet with Ukrainian military officials in Brussels, Belgium, this afternoon and deliver self-produced propaganda materials and an open letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The letter contained contents such as “The Ukrainian military’s active psychological warfare can induce the mass surrender and escape of North Korean soldiers.”
Meanwhile, on the 10th, the American daily New York Times (NYT) reported that Russia had gathered 50,000 troops, including North Korean troops, to recapture the Kursk region occupied by Ukraine. They are expected to begin their advance within a few days, and it is reported that about 10,000 North Korean soldiers are receiving Russian military uniforms and weapons and are undergoing training.
The U.S. Department of Defense believes that, based on the fact that North Korean soldiers are trained in trench warfare, there is a high possibility that they will engage the Ukrainian military on the front line.
