Soumya Sarkar is caught by Rovman Powell during the second T20 against West Indies at Kingstown. Soumya could not palm the ball in the slip. He got injured while catching the ball.
The ball hits his finger directly. He immediately left the field in pain. It was then that something bad happened. He did not return to the field after that. He was placed in an ambulance stationed inside the stadium. There is primary care.
According to BCB, Soumya’s injured finger received five stitches. He will be out of action for three to four weeks. The left-handed top order batsman will not be able to play at the beginning of the BPL with the last T20 against the West Indies.
In BCB’s statement, national team physio Baijedul Islam said five stitches were given to Soumya’s cut finger. X-rays also showed bone displacement at the site of injury.
