Strong Performance Across All Levels

The Badminton Club Burgos demonstrated exceptional form over the past weekend, achieving success in both regional and grassroots competitions. The club fielded eleven athletes at the Torrezno de Soria Tournament in the absolute and senior categories of Castilla y León, and a promising youth team at the TOP TTR Sub-13 in Solares, Cantabria. Players from the club consistently reached the podium in nearly all events they participated in.

Triumphs at the Torrezno de Soria Tournament

The Burgos delegation delivered an outstanding performance at the Torrezno Tournament, showcasing their skill in the highest competitive levels. Javier García emerged as champion in the absolute men’s singles, completing the tournament with an impeccable record.

The duo of Daniel García and Raúl Gutiérrez secured the gold medal in men’s doubles, while Javier García and Fernando Fombellida earned a commendable bronze, resulting in a strong Burgos presence on the podium. Fernando Fombellida too finished in fifth place in the individual competition.

In the women’s and mixed categories, Beatriz García and Esther Pereira displayed consistent performance. Beatriz García won bronze in women’s singles and silver in women’s doubles with Esther Pereira. The pair of Esther Pereira and Raúl Gutiérrez were runners-up in mixed doubles, adding another silver medal to the club’s tally.

Success at the TOP TTR Sub-13 in Solares

The Burgos club’s youth players also excelled at the TOP TTR Sub-13 tournament in Solares, Cantabria. The results invite optimism about the future of the entity, with significant victories in individual categories.

Guillermo Garcia claimed the gold medal in the men’s category, while Lucia Varona achieved victory in the women’s category. Martina Morquillas secured a bronze medal in individual play, and Martina Morquillas and Lucía Varona earned silver in women’s doubles.

Additional Achievements

Further notable results included fifth-place finishes for the pairs Naira Arnaiz – Gabriela Fombellida, Laura Muñoz – Beatriz Hernández, and the mixed doubles duo of Daniel García and Naira Arnaiz. In the Senior category A1, Enrique del Olmo and Pablo Sendino won bronze in men’s doubles. Enrique del Olmo finished fourth in the individual competition, and Pablo Sendino placed fifth.

The Badminton Club Burgos continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence at all levels of competition, solidifying its position as a leading force in Castilla y León badminton.
