Shimane’s 2026 High School Baseball Season: Dates, Venues, and More
The Big Picture
The 108th National High School Baseball Championship, also known as Koshien, is all set for 2026. The tournament will run from July 11th to the 26th at the newly renovated Izumo City Hamayama Park Baseball Stadium.
Highlight Events
- Prefectural Spring Tournament: April 17th to May 2nd at Matsue City and other venues
- San’in Tournament: June 6th and 7th at Yamata Sports Park Baseball Stadium in Tottori City
- Prefectural Autumn Tournament: September 11th to 27th at Hamayama Park and other venues
- Autumn China Tournament: October 23rd to November 1st in Tottori prefecture
Lottery and Opening Games
The lottery for the Shimane Championship will be held on June 12th at the community hall in Ota City. The opening ceremony and opening game will be held at the sub-baseball stadium in Matsue City.
Tournament Schedule from Quarterfinals Onwards
- Quarterfinals: July 19th and 20th
- Semifinals: July 23rd and 24th
- Finals: July 26th
Development of High School Baseball
Daisuke Okafuji, who has dedicated 20 years to high school baseball in Shimane prefecture, was recognized for his contributions at a teachers’ meeting held on February 12th. He also discussed the upcoming Prefectural High School Baseball Federation event plan and the introduction of the Designated Hitter (DH) system in 2026.
