Multi-sports event at Coffee Axis. After three weeks of competitions in the first National Youth Games, the Santander delegation ranked fourth in the main conventional and inclusion sports competitions, which are usually held in the Coffee Region.
The delegation of our department, with full support from the Government of Santander and InderSantander, was surpassed only by the sports powers of Antioquia, Valle and Bogotá, sections with great economic and logistical resources, together with many athlete in competitions.
In the balance of medals achieved, Santander added 67 medals, of which 19 are gold metals, 21 silver medals and 27 bronze achievements. In terms of sports, the golden achievements of Canoeing (5), Sailing (4), Skating (3) were highlighted and those with gold medals were: Athletics, Judo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Golf, Weightlifting and Track Cycling.
Highlights and sports
Individually, the following prevailed: Héctor Julián Morales López from Canotaje with three golds; Jean Paul Liechti Villegas in Sailing) and Héctor José Bayona in Skating), with two golden achievements.
The first places for Santander were achieved due to Canoeing (5), Sailing (4), Skating (3), and Athletics, Track Cycling, Judo, Golf, Taekwondo, Wrestling and Weightlifting, with a gold podium.
There are 21 argentum conquests, silver places thanks to Water Skiing (4), Wrestling (3), Canoeing (3), Squash (3) and there is a silver podium in Taekwondo, Athletics, Archery, Skating, 3×3 Basketball, Judo , golf and track cycling.
The 27 bronze third place is a collection of athletes from Squash (5), Taekwondo (3), Judo (3), Athletics (2), Skating (2), Track Cycling (2), leaving the third place on the podium for Archery, Boxing, Basketball, Water Skiing, Swimming, Weightlifting, Olympic Wrestling, Field Tennis, Sailing and Volleyball.
Paranational Games
In the Paranational Youth Games, Santander, thanks to swimming, paracycling and athletics, took fourth place, thanks to 20 gold medals, 23 silver places and 16 bronze podiums. Bogotá took first place with 41 gold medals; Valle del Cauca is second with 32 gold and 25 silver; Antioquia closed the podium with 32 gold metals and 22 silver.
For Santander, the main ‘conqueror’ of medals was para swimmer Santiago León Prada with seven gold places. León Prada was first in: 200 meters individual medley SM6; 50 meters S6; 100 meter breaststroke SB6; 400 meters freestyle S6; 100 meters freestyle S6; 50 meters freestyle S6 and 4×100 meters free relay-34 points.

Likewise, he is the designer of the gold metal department of Ledis Marcela Riveros Clavijo in Paracycling. The athlete added four golds because of his first places in the Kilometer category B, the BB Tandem Time Trial, the BB Tandem Individual Road test and the 3000 meter B Individual Pursuit.
